of the Jubilee Family Shrine

The Schoenstatt Family in Minnesota joyfully celebrates the 50th anniversary of the dedication of the Jubilee Family Shrine in Sleepy Eye, MN. In the name of the shrine, Jubilee - represents the three jubilees that took place in 1976 when the shrine was built. These jubilees celebrated this year are: 150 years of St. Mary's Parish in Sleepy Eye, MN, 250 years of the USA, and 100 years of the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary. The Family aspect of the name of the shrine shows the mission of support and formation of holy families after the example of the Holy Family.

Because the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary centennial, Pope Leo XIV has granted the gift of a plenary indulgence for all Schoenstatt Shrines, churches, and chapels under their care. This includes the Jubilee Family Shrine in it's Golden Jubilee Year.
Join us on the weekend of September 18-20, 2026 for events for families and friends of Schoenstatt. On Sunday, September 20, 2026, Bishop Chad Zielinski, bishop of the Diocese of New Ulm will officiate at the solemn Golden Jubilee Mass.
